Michael Dixon has appeared on Coronation Street in two roles: firstly in June and July 2006 as Chris Pitcher, a short-term boyfriend of Maria Sutherland; and he returned to the programme in November 2017 as Niall, a customer at the Rovers who was thrown out for his rude comments about Gemma Winter.

Born in Lancashire in 1983, he attended Bolton-le-Sands Primary School and Morecambe High School but moved south at the age of eighteen to train at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art.

His other credits include Mile High, Vincent, Holby City, Dream Team 80's, The Street, Blue Murder, Doctor Who and Hollyoaks, as well as roles in the films Alexander, Cashback, The Deaths of Ian Stone, Love Me Forever, Act of Grace, A Passionate Woman, Red Tails and Grid Iron. His theatre experience has taken him to New York where he performed Off Broadway with David Oyelowo in James Kerr's translation of Prometheus Bound.
