Michael Bilton (born 14th December 1919 in Cottingham, Yorkshire, died 5th November 1993 in Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire) appeared on Coronation Street in four roles:
- A TV Salesman in October 1961
- Leonard Stothert, who along with his wife, expressed interest in purchasing 9 Coronation Street in May 1968
- Tom Hedley, appearing between February and March 1971, who crashed his car into the Mayoral Rolls Royce
- Norman Pearson, husband of Beattie, who appeared in July and August 1983.
After attending Hymers College in Hull, Michael went on to serve in the Army, but suffered a serious stomach wound at the Battle of El Alamein during the Second World War. He took up a career in repertory theatre after a long period of convalescence.
A prolific sitcom actor, he appeared in episodes of Dad's Army, That's Your Funeral, Albert!, The Fenn Street Gang, Oh No, It's Selwyn Froggitt, The Fall and Rise of Reginald Perrin, To the Manor Born, Open All Hours, Terry and June, One Foot in the Grave, Keeping Up Appearances, Grace & Favour and Waiting for God.
Straight roles include credits for Knight Errant Limited, Yorky, Emergency-Ward 10, Dixon of Dock Green, Z Cars, Hereward the Wake, Doctor Who, The Saint, The Avengers, Crown Court, Angels, Brideshead Revisited, The Gentle Touch, The Bill, All Creatures Great and Small and Alleyn Mysteries.
On stage, he has appeared in productions of Queen Elizabeth Slept Here, Nun's Veiling, Albertine by Moonlight, Kill 2 Birds, House of Cards, The Rivals, Hobson's Choice and Captain Brassbound's Conversion.
