Michael John Attwell (born 16th January 1943 in Watford, died 18th March 2006 in London) appeared on Coronation Street in January 1968 as hippy Keith.
He graduated from RADA in 1963 with a diploma in Stage Management and began his career at Newcastle Playhouse.
His other on-screen credits include roles in Doctor Who, The First Churchills, Turtle's Progress, Oliver Twist, Never Say Die, EastEnders, Boon, The Bill, The New Adventures of Black Beauty, Casualty, Westbeach, London's Burning, Thief Takers, Silent Witness, Monsignor Renard, Border Cafe, Trial & Retribution, Hotel Babylon and a role in the 1988 film Buster.
On stage, he appeared in productions of Something Nasty in the Woodshed, Rabelais, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead, The Recruiting Officer, Hamlet, Bartholomew Fair, Sunday in the Park with George and The Woman Who Cooked Her Husband.
Michael, a self-taught artist, was also a successful political cartoonist for such tabloids as The Sun, The Sunday People and the News of the World.
