Meriel Scholfield (born 1960 in Bangor, Wales) appeared on Coronation Street in seven roles:
- Debbie, who Gail Tilsley called round to see when her young son, Nicky, was presumed missing in June 1987
- Miss Dalton, consultant at a private abortion clinic where Leanne Tilsley attended in April 1999
- Adoption project leader Joanne Duggan, appearing between October and November 2000
- Toni Melton, the wife of crooked councillor, Chris Melton, appearing in October 2002
- A woman who was a client of male escort, Lewis Archer, in April 2010
- Dr Barton, an oncology consultant at Weatherfield General, whose patient was Chris Gray in October 2011
- Susan Meldrum, the ex-wife of Michael Rodwell, appearing in March 2015.
She graduated from RADA in 1982.
Her other credits include roles in The Bill, Cracker, Emmerdale, Peak Practice, Heartbeat, Holby City, Cold Feet, The Royal, Doctors, Twisted Tales, Shameless, Casualty, Waterloo Road, Hollyoaks, Last Tango in Halifax and Hullraisers, along with the films Frankenstein and Sparkle.
On stage, she appeared in productions including Behind the Scenes at the Museum, Kes, All At Sea, The Accrington Pals, Tom's Midnight Garden, The Last Quiz Night on Earth, If I Were You, Kafka's Dick, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead, The Country and The Seagull.
