Meridian Broadcasting (now branded as ITV Meridian) is the ITV franchise holder for the south and south east of England. The station launched on 1st January 1993, succeeding Television South. Episode 3484 of Coronation Street was shown as part of its first day of transmissions and Meridian have carried the programme for the region since then.
