Matthew "Matty" Radcliffe, older brother of Mason, was carrying out a sentence for ABH at Greenford Secure Training Centre when Ryan Connor and Daisy Midgeley held a talk about violent crime in October 2023.
Following their shared trauma of an acid attack at the hands of Justin Rutherford, Ryan and Daisy were persuaded by Daisy's partner Daniel Osbourne - who worked at the STC - to hold a talk about their experience to educate the young men at the facility about the impact that violent crime has on its victims. Matty disconnected from the talk and was chastised by Daniel for yawning through Daisy's segment, however, he took notice when Ryan mentioned that Justin had received a 10-year sentence for his crime and fled the room. He later admitted to Ryan that he was responsible for glassing another man who had tried it on with his girlfriend. Ryan showed no judgment and was able to persuade Matty to return for the rest of the talk where he encouraged the young men to change their lives around ahead of their release.
