Mary Osbourne (née Tatlock) and her husband Thomas lived at 1 Coronation Street from 1907 to 1915.

Thomas worked at a tailoring factory and Mary at Hardcastle's Mill. After Mary's brother and sister-in-law's deaths, they took on partial responsibility for her nephews Alfred and Albert Tatlock. In 1915, with war raging and Albert in France, Thomas decided to move the Osbournes into his family's large house in south Manchester.
