Mary McMurray (born 31st March, 1949) worked on Coronation Street as a director on 27 episodes irregularly from August 1979 to February 1990, three of them co-credited with Laurence Moody. She directed the Street spin-off Coronation Street - The Feature Length Special and produced Coronation Street - After Hours, also a spin-off.

Although she planned a musical career, she was employed by Granada Television where after assisting the distinguished documentary filmmaker Denis Mitchell, she began to direct working on World in Action and Crown Court. She won the Best First Film Prize at the San Remo Film Festival for her 1985 feature film The Assam Garden. Her other credits include Spender, Taggart, Ruth Rendell Mysteries, Cadfael and Judge John Deed.

She is a former Chair of the "Directors' and Producers' Rights Society", now "Directors UK", and President of the "International Committee of Dramatic, Literary and Audio-Visual Authors".
