Mark Bickerton

Mark Bickerton (born 1963) was a storyliner and story editor on Coronation Street. He took up the former post in September 2001 and transferred into being a story editor in June 2004 contributing 338 episodes in that position until September 2005 (50 of them co-credited with Bryan Kirkwood). After working on Family Affairs and Hollyoaks for a few years, he returned to Coronation Street as a storyliner (credited as "senior story associate") in July 2009 and continued until September 2013. Altogether he contributed 1,723 episodes in that role. He also worked in the interim on on-line material for Coronation Street.

He studied at both Manchester University and Birmingham University and is also a stage playwright with A Murder of Crows to his name. For the BBC he wrote Goldmoor and created the radio soap The Colcloughs.

In 2007, he married 'Yana Lumb' actress Jayne Tunnicliffe, whom he met on the set of Coronation Street.
