The Man was a potential client of Liz McDonald's when her image, profile and address were posted on an escorting website in December 2018. The only problem was that Liz knew nothing about the advert. It had been placed by Jenny Connor as an act of revenge when she had discovered that her husband Johnny and Liz had had a one-night stand some months before.
The man arrived at Liz's flat at the same time as she did one evening. He complimented her on her perfect timing, saying she was even better looking than in her photograph and utterly puzzling her in the process. Liz suspected a practical joke and was staggered when he showed her the advert on his mobile phone. The man was annoyed that he had come some distance for nothing and as an argument broke out, it was Johnny who arrived and came to her aid and made the man leave, which he did so with a barbed rejoinder that Liz wasn't worth the money anyway.
