Malcolm Hope Terris (born 11th January 1941 in Sunderland, died 6th June 2020 in Hillingdon, London) appeared on Coronation Street in three roles:
- The police sergeant carrying out an eviction order at a gypsy encampment in October 1970
- Talent scout Bob Maskell in May 1974
- Eric Firman, owner of frozen food chain Firman's Freezers, who appeared intermittently between January 1994 and August 1998.
Prior to going to drama school, Malcolm was a trainee reporter on the Sunderland Echo, the town's evening paper. Upon graduating, he appeared regularly on television in programmes such as Doctor Who, Joe and the Gladiator, The Intruder, Emmerdale Farm, Second City Firsts, The Stars Look Down, When the Boat Comes In, Crown Court, Our John Willie, The Talisman, Cover, Juliet Bravo, Andy Robson, Death of an Expert Witness, Reilly: Ace of Spies, Vanity Fair, Rockcliffe's Babies, Spender, The Bill, My Dad's the Prime Minister, Holby City and Midsomer Murders.
On stage, he played several Shakespearean roles in performances of Othello and Hamlet while in the cinema, he featured in Bounty, Chaplin and Scandal.
His sister, Catherine Terris, also appeared on Coronation Street in two roles.
