Margaret Ollerenshaw (born 8th October 1949 in Ashton-on-Ribble, Preston) appeared on Coronation Street in two roles: firstly as Sandra Pilkington, an old school friend of Audrey Potter, who attended her hen night and wedding to Alf Roberts in December 1985 and then the newlyweds' house-warming party in March 1986; and she returned to the programme intermittently between July 2003 and August 2004 as Eva Briggs, the maternal aunt of Karen McDonald.
Her other television credits include roles in Danger UXB, Angels, Last of the Summer Wine, All Creatures Great and Small, Juliet Bravo, Open All Hours, Seaview, The Ruth Rendell Mysteries, First of the Summer Wine, Mike & Angelo, London's Burning, Firm Friends, The House of Eliott, Three Seven Eleven, Lovejoy, The Bill, Bloomin' Marvelous, Wing and a Prayer, Doctors, EastEnders, He Knew He Was Right, Holby City, Midsomer Murders and Scarborough, while for the younger viewer, she has voiced Henrietta in the Thomas & Friends television series and video franchise and The Queen in Little Princess.
Film roles include Britannia Hospital, A Private Function, Pierrepoint and War Horse.
On stage, she appeared in productions of The Pot of Broth, All in Good Time and The Price of Meat along with tours of the UK and Ireland in King John and The Merry Wives of Windsor for Northern Broadsides.
She is married to actor Geoffrey Leesley, who himself appeared on Coronation Street in two roles.
