Madhav Sharma (born 12th November 1939 in Kolkata, India) appeared on Coronation Street in three roles:
- Dr Sinha, based at the London hospital where Elsie Howard was admitted in July 1973 after being knocked over by a taxi
- Ranjiv Alahan, father of Dev, appearing in October 2004 (the actor Raad Rawi was previously cast in the role)
- Businessman Prem Mandal, appearing between July and November 2008.
He graduated from RADA in 1963.
His other television credits include roles in The Newcomers, The Moonstone, Doctor Who, Harriet's Back in Town, The Regiment, Moonbase 3, Crown Court, Rogue's Rock, Juliet Bravo, Maybury, Fighting Back, Shalom Salaam, The Bill, Holby City, Doctors and Nurses, Grease Monkeys, Casualty, Doctors, Going Postal, The Moonstone, EastEnders and We Are Lady Parts.
Film roles include Up the Front, The Awakening, Giro City, Such a Long Journey, Entrapment, East Is East, The Blue Tower, It's a Wonderful Afterlife, The Journey Weekend Night and Little English.
On stage, he appeared in productions of Fiddler on the Roof, Confession Fever, Indian Ink, The Madness of George III and Much Ado About Nothing.
