Lynn was a potential purchaser of the Viaduct Bistro when partner Debbie Webster put up her share in the business in November 2022. Her business empire was still struggling after the disastrous fallout over her dealings with crooked Ray Crosby two years before and she was forced to divest herself of some of her holdings to stay afloat. Nick Tilsley and Leanne Battersby, the other shareholders, were not pleased to be saddled with another partner. Left alone with Lynn, Leanne lied to her that Debbie’s sales pitch, fuelled by her acute drinking problem, was untrue, as was the claim about full bookings at weekend. Moreover they had a problem with a vermin infestation. After going through the books with Debbie, Lynn told her that she wasn't going to put in an offer, claiming that the location wasn't right, and she wanted to invest in somewhere which was closer to the centre of town. Leanne was happy while Debbie was left to ponder just what had gone wrong.

She later rang Lynn and found out that Leanne had scuppered her deal. Furious, she showed Leanne and Nick their contract which stipulated that if one partner could secure an offer above the market rate, they could force the other one to sell, and threatened to force the sale of the whole bistro if they couldn’t find the cash to buy her share.

Debbie got her own back though when she contacted Lynn to see if she would change her mind and was told that her builder had discovered four instances of wet rot in the building. Debbie conned Nick and Leanne by accepting their low offer for her share of the partnership and left them with the problem to solve.
