Louisa MacGregor Rix (born 2nd February 1955 in Kensington, London) appeared on Coronation Street in November 1978 as Carole Gordon, a buyer dealing with Baldwin's Casuals.
She also appeared as Alec Gilroy's sister, cruise ship singer Brenda (aka Melody Lane) in the spin-off QE2 Video, released in December 1995.
She originally studied art before training at LAMDA.
Her other credits include roles in A Roof Over My Head, Danger UXB, Smith & Jones, Colin's Sandwich, Made in Heaven, Side by Side, Harry, Brookside, Harry Enfield and Chums, Doctors, Miranda and Come Fly with Me, along with the films Paris by Night and Kevin & Perry Go Large.
On stage, she appeared in productions of Hobson's Choice, Hay Fever, Charley's Aunt, Don Juan, Much Ado About Nothing, The Prince of Homburg, Don't Misunderstand Me, Valued Friends, The Pocket Dream, Building Blocks and a Bill Kenwright production of How the Other Half Loves.
The daughter of the late film director and actor Brian Rix, she was previously married to the actor Jonathan Coy, who himself appeared on Coronation Street. She retired from acting to pursue her passion for design and has run the interior design company Forbes Rix Designs with her business partner Natalie Forbes since 2012.
