Linda Jane Holmes appeared on Coronation Street in two roles: firstly between November and December 1987 as a staff nurse at Weatherfield General who attended Hilda Ogden, hospitalised after being attacked by burglars at Robert and Joan Lowther's house; and she returned to the programme in July 2000 as Blackpool ballroom dancer Grace Kershaw, partnered by husband Ernie in a competition at the Tower Ballroom.
She left drama school in 1984 and went on to play a variety of roles in rep.
Her other credits include roles in Small World, Waterloo Road, Apparitions, and the TV movie First and Last.
On stage, she appeared in productions of Follies, Drums in the Night and Pacific Overtures.
More recently, she has combined her passion for Victorian history and theatre, giving talks as "The Victorian Baroness Bolsover".
