Liam Shepherd was a young thug who caused trouble at the amusement arcade where Judy Mallett worked. Husband Gary threw him out, but he came back later claiming Gary had beaten him up and demanded £200 to stop him going to the police. Judy paid £150 blackmail money. It later came out that he wanted the money so his girlfriend Zoe Tattersall could have an abortion.
