Lex van Delden (born "Alexander Zwaap" on 21st June 1947 in Amsterdam, died 6th October 2010 also in Amsterdam) appeared on Coronation Street in January 1981 as Dirk van der Stek, a work colleague of Ray Langton, and a short-term love interest of his ex-wife, Deirdre.
He had a long list of credits to his name by the time of his death, the vast majority of them in his home country but, fluent in English, German and French, he also appeared on British television in Auf Weidersehen, Pet, Lovejoy, The Ruth Rendell Mysteries and internationally in The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles. He also appeared in the film A Bridge Too Far.
