Leslie Dwyer (born 28th August 1906 in Catford, London; died 26th December 1986 in Truro, Cornwall) appeared on Coronation Street in two roles: firstly as Ernie Sutton, father of Monica and Jenny in May 1968 and July 1973; and he returned to the programme as in March 1978 as British Legion Dominoes Committee member Jacko Dugdale in March 1978.

Perhaps most famous for his role as miserable Punch and Judy man Mr. Partridge in the BBC sitcom Hi-De-Hi!, his other credits include Rendezvous, Boyd Q.C., No Hiding Place, Citizen James, Dixon of Dock Green, Z Cars, Sergeant Cork, Diary of a Young Man, Emergency-Ward 10, The Newcomers, You're Only Young Twice, Doctor Who, Late Call and Lord Tramp.

On stage, he appeared in productions of Counsel's Opinion, Clive of India, The Man in Half Moon Street, The Body Was Well Nourished, Flare Path, Peace Comes to Peckham, No Time for Sergeants, How Say You? and Green Room Rag.
