Lesley Clare O'Neill (born May 1952) appeared on Coronation Street in two roles: firstly between September and October 1984 as Sonia Wilkins, a temporary assistant at The Kabin; and she returned to the programme between August and September 1993 as Debi Scott, widow of then-corner shop owner Brendan Scott.
Her other television credits include roles in Accident, I Didn't Know You Cared, The Practice, Rockliffe's Babies, The Bill, Waterfront Beat, EastEnders, Turning World, Heartbeat, Doctors, Holby City and Life on Mars.
Film roles include Brothers in Trouble, I'll Sleep When I'm Dead and the TV movie Walter, starring Ian McKellen and notable for being part of Channel 4's launch night in 1982.
On stage, she appeared in productions of City Sugar and Billy Liar.
On the other side of the camera, she is a prolific scriptwriter for Emmerdale and also wrote The Afternoon Play entitled Heroes and Villains (starring Tracie Bennett) in 2003.
