Lee was the boyfriend of Daisy Midgeley when she made her first visit to Coronation Street in November 2020. He came from a monied background and they had met when she was working as a waitress in a yacht club where he was dining with his family. She spilt wine over his expensive trousers, probably deliberately so as she fancied him - and his money, and he gave her his number in order that they could discuss her offer to pay for them to be cleaned, but instead the two began a relationship.
They were on their way to Edinburgh to see his children from his relationship with an ex, and stopped en route so that Daisy could visit her former step-mother Jenny Connor. They arrived at a traumatic time: Back in February 1980, Johnny Connor had committed a warehouse robbery and had been a wanted man since. The news had just emerged and Johnny was facing imminent arrest and probable imprisonment, even though he had since developed an advancing MS condition. Jenny was in a state of denial about his possible fate while Johnny wanted to protect her from any fall-out, especially in financial matters, and decided that the best legal step would be divorce, something she was adamantly against. He therefore began to act coldly and cruelly towards her in an effort to achieve his aims by turning her against him, and making any break-up easier on her part.
This was the fraught atmosphere in which Daisy and Lee entered the Rovers Return Inn. Jenny had prepared a trout lunch for the two visitors, not knowing that Daisy no longer eat fish and besides, the two had already eaten before arriving. The youngsters could only smile nervously as Jenny was on edge and hyper, while Johnny scowled at everyone and everything around him. The two argued in the back room, with Johnny deliberately insulting his wife, while Daisy listened at the closed door, making Lee uncomfortable. The two continued their arguments in the public, including the many traumas they had been through since they had got married three years before. An uncomfortable Lee was desperate to escape what he thought was a nightmare, but Daisy was enjoying the spectacle and was determined to stay, despite risking their first row as a couple in doing so. While the drink flowed between them all, so did the insults between the Connors, and Lee managed to get outside to vape for a few minutes, being there when DC Ahmadi accompanied by an officer rolled up to make the much-anticipated arrest.
Lee went on to Edinburgh alone while Daisy stayed behind, supposedly to support Jenny. Less than two months later, Lee texted Daisy to say that he was taking up with his ex again. She railed against the fact that she had lost a life of wealth and easy privilege due to their split.
