Laurie Loveday was the violent ex-husband of Gwen Davies and father to Jason Loveday.
Laurie had been married to Gwen for nearly twenty years, however they divorced shortly before she moved to the street in October 1999. Gwen eventually became friends with Jim McDonald, who had served in the same regiment as her husband, and later confessed that Laurie used to assault her.
