Laura Montgomery interviewed Brian Packham for a job outside of the teaching profession at Llewellyn House museum in Wrexham. He was in a panic as he and Julie Carp also had an interview with fostering agent Trudy Michaelson the same day and he had to get back to Weatherfield for that. He didn't tell Julie about the job interview and sat waiting patiently while Laura finished a telephone call. She apologised and told Brian that it was good news - the wife of the only other candidate had refused to move to Wales so the position was his for the taking. When Brian broke up with Julie as he didn't really want a family, he took the job and moved to Wales.
