The drunken Lad and his mates were customers in Prima Doner one day when they called in as part of a rumbustious stag night. Chesney Brown was working his shift and Gemma Winter was finishing hers as the rowdy customers entered the shop. She was unperturbed by their behaviour, keen to actually join them on their night out. Less happy was Chesney who the month before had been stabbed with a broken bottle when he innocently walked into the Viaduct Bistro where an altercation was taking place between Robert Preston and Rich Collis. Although physically healed, he was carrying mental scars of the incident which he hid from everyone, and the behaviour of the customers was triggering his anxiety. When one of the lads dropped a bottle that he was carrying on the floor, Chesney was taken back said the day of his stabbing and had to flee the shop in a panic.
When owner Dev Alahan arrived afterwards he was not pleased to see the customers on the other side of the counter helping themselves and threw them out of the premises. He was especially angry as he was showing Joan Raven, a potential investor in his chain of shops around his businesses. He took Chesney to task for his unprofessional behaviour and, unwilling to explain himself, Chesney quit his job on the spot.
