Kim Vaughan was an old friend of Fiz Stape.
In his childhood Kim was brought up in the same care home as Fiz. When Fiz turned sixteen she was fostered by Roy and Hayley Cropper leaving Kim on his own, despite this Kim was pleased that his friend had found a family. The pair lost contact but later reconnected in April 2017 - much to the displeasure of Fiz's partner Tyrone Dobbs, who didn't realise that Kim was actually homosexual.
In June, Kim returned in an attempt to interest Fiz in his antiques, and she began to consider a career in that trade. This terrified Tyrone who feared losing Fiz to Kim. When Tyrone eventually confronted him, Kim revealed the truth about his sexuality.
