Kenneth Alan Taylor (born 4th April 1937 in East Ham, London) appeared intermittently on Coronation Street between June 1987 and June 1990 as Newton & Ridley boss Cecil Newton, however the role was subsequently taken over by George Baker when the character returned in November 2003.
He was also the artistic director of the Nottingham Playhouse during the 1980s and a former director of the Oldham Coliseum.
His other on-screen credits include roles in Starr and Company, Love Story, Emergency-Ward 10, Crown Court, Floodtide, G.B.H., The Mixer, Last of the Summer Wine, Heartbeat, Emmerdale, Cardiac Arrest, Cold Feet, Hollyoaks, Grange Hill and Give Out Girls.
He is married to actress Judith Barker, who appeared on Coronation Street from 1969 to 1977 as Janet Barlow.
