Probably better known for his long-running role as PC Cooper in Last of the Summer Wine, his other credits include roles in Churchill's People, Shades of Greene, Angels, Get Some In!, Van der Valk, Danger UXB, All Creatures Great and Small, The Gentle Touch, Mappe & Lucia, Children's Ward, Ruth Rendell Mysteries, The Bill, Heartbeat, London's Burning, Casualty, Emmerdale and Shameless.

In October 2014, Ken and actor Louis Emerick launched an online appeal in order to fund the creation of a Last of the Summer Wine spin-off.
