Kenneth Kitson (born 7th July 1945 in Lower Agbrigg, Yorkshire) appeared on Coronation Street in four roles:
- Mountain rescue leader Jim Hinton during August and September 1977
- Marion Willis's ex-boyfriend Phil Moss in August 1982
- Marty Kelly in July 2001
- Businessman Frank Walker in October 2004.
Originally working as a printer, he trained at East 15 Acting School.
Probably best known for his long-running role as PC Cooper in Last of the Summer Wine, his other credits include roles in Second City Firsts, Dominic, People Like Us, Danger UXB, Strangers, By the Sword Divided, One by One, Mapp & Lucia, The Ruth Rendell Mysteries, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, Children's Ward, G.B.H., The Bill, Heartbeat, Emmerdale, Jake's Progress, London's Burning, The Cops and Cooper and Walsh.
Ken and actor Louis Emerick launched an online appeal in October 2014, in order to fund the creation of a Last of the Summer Wine spin-off.
