Julian Kay (born August 1974 in York) appeared on Coronation Street intermittently between November 1996 and January 2003 as Robert Preston. (The role was taken over by Tristan Gemmill when the character returned in July 2015).
His other television credits include roles in Emmerdale, Peak Practice, Coming Home, Dangerfield, At Home with the Braithwaites, Girls in Love, Vincent, Casualty, Life on Mars, The Royal, Hollyoaks, Secrets and Words, Ackley Bridge, The Worst Witch, The Syndicate, The Long Shadow and Meet the Richardsons.
Film roles include The Face at the Window, A Mind of Her Own, Britz and The Hunter's Prayer.
On stage, he appeared in productions including Bouncers, Behind the Scenes at the Museum, Dick Whittington and Old Mother Milly at York Theatre Royal and The Wizard of Oz at Wales Millennium Centre, Cardiff.
He is maried to actress, Kate Hampson, who herself appeared on Coronation Street. Their son, Arthur Kay, is also an actor.
