Judy Brooke appeared in Coronation Street between February 1992 and September 1994 in the recurring role of Paula Maxwell, the on-off girlfriend of Andy McDonald. Born in Leeds on 21st February 1970, Judy had made a previous appearance in the programme as optician’s assistant Anita in Episode 2922 (29th March 1989).

Judy made her first professional appearance at the Leeds Playhouse at the age of fourteen in a production of Willy Russell’s Our Day Out. Her first television role was in the part of Yvonne Fairweather in The Beiderbecke Tapes and its sequel The Beiderbecke Connection in 1987 and 1988 respectively. Other roles prior to the part of Paula included appearances in All Creatures Great and Small, Emmerdale and The Ward while post-Coronation Street her CV includes Medics, Peak Practice and Band of Gold. Stage productions included Charley's Aunt, Death of a Salesman, Alfie, Titus Andronicus, An Inspector Calls, A Little Hotel on the Side, The Amazing Dancing Bear, The Crucible and The Plotters of Cabbage Patch Corner.
