Judge Alderman presided over the courtroom during the trial of Tracy Barlow, accused of the murder of boyfriend Charlie Stubbs. When the Foreman of the jury stated that they had found the defendant guilty, Judge Alderman told the court that the charge carried a mandatory sentence of life imprisonment and after hearing submissions from the defence and prosecution, she recommended that Tracy should serve a minimum of fifteen years in prison before being eligible for parole.
- Judge Alderman was played by Sara Roache who was the real-life wife of William Roache, who plays Tracy's on-screen stepfather Ken Barlow.
