Joy Stewart (born 30th August 1924 in Peterborough, died 18th June 1999 in South Africa) played four roles on Coronation Street:
- Landlord's rent collector Mary Stubbs in February 1961
- Miami Modes supervisor Mrs Ball in August 1964
- Mark Brittain Warehouse worker Marian Mason in June and November 1971
- Freda Barry, who took over as landlady of The Flying Horse in July 1974.
Her main connection with the programme though is her role as Miss Sinclair, the staff supervisor of Dobson and Hawks in twenty-eight of the thirty seven episodes of Street spin-off Pardon the Expression in 1965 and 1966.
She had frequent parts in series such as Dixon of Dock Green and Z Cars but her most frequent appearances were in comedy series such as The Rag Trade, Doctor at Large, Doctor in Charge and Mind Your Language in which she made her last credited television acting appearance in 1979.
