Joss Buckley (born "David Joss Buckley" on 17th June 1948 in Leicester) appeared on Coronation Street in September 1985 as Jimmy Quigley, a friend of Terry Duckworth.

His other television credits include roles in Rock Follies, The Professionals, The Borgias, The Gentle Touch, A.D., Girls on Top, Boon, First Among Equals, Up Line and Hard Cases.

Film roles include The Draughtsman's Contract and Morons from Outer Space.

On stage, he appeared in productions of The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Hiawatha, The Mayor of Zalamea, The Caucasian Chalk Circle, The Spanish Tragedy, Lorenzaccio, The Ancient Mariner and The Hot Summer for the National Theatre. Other works include Hamlet and Let The Good Stones Roll.

While for radio, he was heard in the 1983 play Napoleon's Paris.

He later turned to writing, under his full birth name, and has scripted Sea Dragon, Spatz, Emmerdale, Thief Takers, Lucy Sullivan Is Getting Married, Down to Earth, The Smart Couple (for BBC Radio 4) Rosemary & Thyme, Hinterland and EastEnders. He also wrote and produced A Mind to Kill and, for the stage, dramatised Double Indemnity, Dolores Claiborne and Girl with a Pearl Earring.
