John Stratton (born 7th November 1925 in Clitheroe, died 25th October 1991 in Hampstead, London) appeared on Coronation Street in two roles: firstly as John Harrison in November 1965; and he returned to the programme as Hilda Ogden's brother Archie Crabtree in May 1972.

In between these appearances, he guest-starred in "You Can't Get Out Of The Wood", a January 1967 episode of the spin-off programme Turn out the Lights.

Elsewhere, he appeared in Quatermass and the Pit, The Secret Kingdom, Kipps, Z Cars, It's Dark Outside, The Newcomers, Letters from the Dead, Resurrection, The Elusive Pimpernel, The Black Tulip, The Pallisers, Trinity Tales, Clayhanger, Forget Me Not, Just William, Backs to the Land, The Mill on the Floss, The Good Companions, Great Expectations, The Forgotten Story, My Cousin Rachel, Juliet Bravo and Doctor Who. Continuing to act until he died, his penultimate appearance on television was in an episode of Lovejoy.

Stage productions included roles in No Trees in the Street, The Country House, Accolade, Colombe, Someone Waiting, Paris Not So Gay, Vanity Fair, When We Are Married and The Liar.
