John Judd (born 28th February 1947) appeared on Coronation Street in two roles: firstly as Doctor Cannon who attended Ena Sharples in June 1977; and he returned to the programme in August 1982 as bookmaker Sammy Chadwick.

Other TV roles include Space: 1999, The Chinese Detective, The Professionals, The Sweeney, Minder, Target, Tales of the Unexpected, Devices and Desires, Operation Good Guys, Private Schultz, Those Glory Glory Days, Marjorie & Men, Hold the Back Page, Rockliffe's Folly, Juliet Bravo, ChuckleVision, The Prince & The Pauper, The Bill and many other TV shows.

He played the part of Blind Pew in the TV musical version of Treasure Island which won a Tony. He has also appeared in theatres all over the UK and Canada and played dame in pantomime many times. He has written two stage musicals and directed many pantomimes.

His films include A Bridge Too Far, That Summer, The Oddjob and The Appointment. He is best known for the role of Mr Sands in the much acclaimed film Scum and also for the children's TV series Jossy's Giants. He is married to the singer Helen Shapiro.
