John Sidney Dawson (born 10th June 1919 in Salford, died 13th May 1984 in Cheltenham) appeared on Coronation Street in both May 1971 and March 1974 as Community Centre committee chairman Mr Rodgers.
His other credits included roles in Quatermass and the Pit, Z Cars, Suspense, Mary Barton, Smuggler's Bay, Compact, The Flying Swan, Crossroads, Softly Softly, The Newcomers, The Doctors, The Witch's Daughter, The Rivals of Sherlock Holmes, Six Days of Justice, Doctor Who and the regular part of Fred Mumford in Rentaghost from 1976 to 1979.
