John D. Collins (born "John Christopher Dixon" on 2nd December 1942 in London) appeared on Coronation Street between August and September 1969 as the Reverend Vernon Lingard of St. Mary's Church, booked to conduct the wedding of Albert Tatlock and Alice Pickins.

Probably best known for his role as Flying Officer Fairfax in 'Allo 'Allo from 1982 to 1992, his other credits include A Family at War, Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em, Get Some In!, Q6, Secret Army, Dick Barton: Special Agent, Flesh and Blood, It Ain't Half Hot Mum, Are You Being Served?, Only Fools and Horses, Triangle, You Rang, M'Lord?, Oh Doctor Beeching! and Trial & Retribution.

On stage, he appeared in productions of Dead Silence!, Clochemerle, Black and Blue, Taking Steps, When Did You Last See Your Trousers? and Season's Greetings.
