John Catterall appeared in Coronation Street in two roles: as Stig, a drug-taking friend of Darryl Morton in September 2007, and he returned to the programme in September 2010 as Mikey, a student in Sheffield who encountered Sophie Webster and Sian Powers when they were on the run together.
He studied acting at the University of Central Lancashire and has also appeared in Children's Ward, Peak Practice, Playing the Field, Heartbeat, The Forsyte Saga, Holby City, Beautiful People, All the Small Things, Doctors, Last Tango in Halifax and Emmerdale.
In 2016 he had a career change and went behind the cameras, becoming a runner and production team member on series such as Citizen Khan, Great British Railway Journeys, The One Show, Gunpowder, Free Rein, Wanderlust, No Offence and Curfew.
