John was the husband of Tanya, a woman who spent a night with Ryan Connor in May 2018.
After disappearing after a stag do the night before his mother's wedding, Robert Preston and Daniel Osbourne tracked Ryan down to Tanya's house. When Robert spotted Ryan approaching the door, he chased him into the house, telling him to get his stuff.
Ryan and Daniel were then interrupted by John who asked to see Tanya. Despite Tanya telling him they were as good as divorced, John demanded to know who had slept with her. Ryan then pointed to Robert and despite trying to explain his innocence, he was punched in the face.
