Joe Duttine (born 30th June 1970 in Halifax) has appeared in two roles in Coronation Street. Between February and June 2010 he played DS Max Carr who investigated the suspicious death of Joe McIntyre and he returned to the programme in January 2013 as Tim Metcalfe, the biological father of Faye Windass.

Joe was born on 30th June 1970 in Halifax and trained at the Drama Centre in London. He is the nephew of actor John Duttine who himself appeared in the programme as electrician Alec Baker in January 1977. Joe has an extensive CV in television with parts in Between the Lines, A Touch of Frost, Silent Witness, Shameless, Casualty and a regular role in the comedy series Pie in the Sky.

His casting in the series as Tim caused comment in The Sun who claimed fans on Twitter were “stunned” that an actor who had previously appeared in one role in the programme was now appearing in another, not realising that this has happened several hundred times in the show’s history without any supposed outcry.

In March 2020, Joe got engaged to Sally Carman, who plays Abi Franklin in the show.
