Joby Blanshard (born "John Henry Blanshard" on 7th November 1919 in Beverley, Yorkshire; died 26th November 1992 in Rotherfield, East Sussex) appeared on Coronation Street in four roles:
- Weatherfield Town Hall official Mr Harper in March 1961
- PC Barnes in September 1965
- PC Charlie Roberts in May 1967
- Longshaw's Foundry Works manager Mr. Swift in January 1982.
Best remembered as Colin Bradley in thirty-two episodes of Doomwatch, his other credits included roles in Lucky Silver, Champion Road, Strife, Z Cars, Moonstrike, Maigret, Lorna Doone, The Plane Makers, Cluff, The Saint, The Avengers, Randall and Hopkirk (Deceased), Churchill's People, Softly Softly: Task Force, A Horseman Riding By, All Creatures Great and Small, Juliet Bravo, Crown Court and First Among Equals.
Film roles included The Passing Stranger, Breakout, Crooks Anonymous, 80,000 Suspects, West 11, Moon Zero Two, The Reckoning, Frenzy and In the Forest.
On stage, he appeared in productions of One Bright Day and The Iceman Cometh.
