Joanne Elizabeth Rowden (born 1970 in Teeside) appeared on Coronation Street between July and October 2000 as Paula Shipley, a Blackpool resident and love interest of the newly widowed Gary Mallett.
She attended Egglescliffe School, Stockton-on-Tees and graduated from Middlesex University with a BA (Hons) in Performing Arts.
Her other credits include roles in Always and Everyone, The Secret, Clocking Off, Heartbeat, No Angels, Emmerdale, The Revenge Files of Alistair Fury, Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps, Survivors, The Royal, Tracy Beaker Returns and Last Tango in Halifax.
On stage, she appeared in productions of Buddy, Rockula, Only the Lonely, The Fly, Oliver and as Frida in the internationally renowned Bjorn Again.
