On the other side of the camera she was credited as producer on films entitled Inbred and Magpie, and as starring in, writing and producing the zombie film Bad Dawn alongside husband Dominic Brunt - best known for the long-running role of vet Paddy Kirk in Emmerdale.
In January 2018 she furthered her writing career when she joined the Coronation Street storylining team, working on 48 episodes until March 2018.
