Coronation Street Wiki

Joanie Michaelis is the oldest daughter of Mick and Lou Michaelis. The family moved into 12 Mawdsley Street in February 2025.

Mick and Lou had a chequered history of domestic violence and in May, Mick once again turned violent towards his wife following the discovery that his son Brody might not be his. Fiz Dobbs reported the disturbance to the police and Craig Tinker carried out a welfare check. He was initially sent away by Lou, who claimed that it had been an argument that had got out of hand, but he later apprehended Mick who had been drink driving. Mick viciously attacked Craig by hitting him over the head with a baseball bat when he tried to perform a breathalyser on him. Craig subsequently died from his injuries.

In the meantime, Lou called a taxi and instructed driver Tim Metcalfe to take her and the girls to a women's refuge. Upon noticing a nasty gash on her head, Tim instead took her to Weatherfield General to get checked out. Lou fled the hospital when PC Jess Heywood began asking questions and left Tim to take care of Joanie and her younger sister Shanice. With no further option, he took the girls back to 4 Coronation Street.

When Lou eventually returned several hours later, she was also invited to stay the night by Tim and Sally, stating she couldn't face going back home as Mick had trashed the place during their earlier altercation.
