Joan Alexandra Scott (born 2nd March 1920 in Milton, Glasgow; died 17th July 1998 in Hounslow, London) appeared on Coronation Street in two roles: firstly between October and November 1983 as Winifred Willis, who arrived in Weatherfield just prior to her daughter Marion marrying Eddie Yeats; and she returned to the programme between March and September 1993 as Olive Clarke (later Turner), who turned down Percy Sugden's marriage proposal.
She also appeared as a Salvation Army Leader in A Big Hand For A Little Lady, an episode of the Street spin-off Turn out the Lights, transmitted in January 1967.
Her other credits included roles in The Contenders, Mr. Digby Darling, The Lovers, Emmerdale Farm, Crown Court, Marked Personal, Miss Jones and Son, Mr. Right, The Citadel, Killer, Taggart, Late Starter, Boon, Running Wild, The Bill and Casualty, along with the feature films For the Love of Ada, The Lovers! and The Mutations.
On stage, she appeared in productions of These Our Actors, Richard II, Relative Values, Brighton Rock, The Cat and the Canary and When We Are Married.
