Joan Savage appeared on Coronation Street in July 2000 as Blackpool ballroom dancer Celeste Pickersgill, partnered by Norris Cole in a competition at the Tower Ballroom.
Performing with Ken Morris in a double act throughout the 1950s and 60s, she also worked a season at the London Palladium with Arthur Haynes. Thereafter, she went on to develop a career as a solo artist and was credited for appearances in Spectacular; Sez Les; Dad's Army; Come Back, Lucy and The Good Old Days.
In recognition of her talent and services to show business, she was awarded the Freedom of the City of London in 2008.
