Joan Hughes appeared in Coronation Street in March and July 2015 as Maggie Lincoln, a friend of Emily Bishop. She returned to the programme in April 2020 as a Woman who looked after Gemma Winter's quads after she left them on a bus.
She has also appeared in All at Sea and Emmerdale and has been a walk-on actress in many series, including previous episodes of Coronation Street as well as Hollyoaks and Brookside.
Stage roles include parts in Green Forms, Hindle Wakes, An Ideal Husband, The Comedy of Errors, Uncle Vanya, Hay Fever and King John.
