Jim Mount was the Irish lover of Elsie Tanner who lodged with Stan and Hilda Ogden, paying them £4 a week rent. During his time with Elsie he continued to see other women, behaviour that caused offence to Len Fairclough and the two of them fought over the matter with Len, for once, coming worse off. He skipped town with his old girlfriend Brenda Riley.
