Jeremy Summers (18th August 1931 - 14th December 2016) directed 61 episodes of Coronation Street from August 1977 to April 1979, January to March 1983, January to December 1990 and October 1993 to March 1994.

Earlier in his career he was an established director in both film and television, most notably 1960s ITV series such as Danger Man, The Saint, The Baron, Man in a Suitcase and Randall and Hopkirk (Deceased). His film work included The Punch and Judy Man, Crooks in Cloisters, Dateline Diamonds, The Vengeance of Fu Manchu and Ferry Cross the Mersey.

Later television work included Danger UXB, Fallen Hero, Shoestring, A Kind of Loving, Tenko, Albion Market, All Creatures Great and Small, Howard's Way, Trainer, Hollyoaks, The Bill and Brookside.
