Jennifer Piercey (1943 - 2022) appeared on Coronation Street in December 1995 as Eileen Wolstenhulme, the mother of Raquel Watts.
She trained at Edinburgh College of Speech and Drama and started her career at the Byre Theatre, St Andrews before teaching Drama to handicapped children for a year. Jennifer then went to London, initially to work with Caryl Jenner’s Unicorn Theatre for Children before appearing in repertory.
Her other credits include roles in The Expert, Play for Today, Grange Hill, Taggart, Rumpole of the Bailey, Inspector Morse, Jonathan Creek, My Uncle Silas, Holby City and the films Friend or Foe and Another Time Another Place. On stage she has appeared in productions including Mother Courage and her Children, Macbeth, The Bacchae, Equus, Golden Girls, Barnes' People, Trilogy of Reunions, Revengers' Comedies, Lettice and Lovage, The Sunshine Boys, And a Nightingale Sang and Keyboard Skills.
