Jennifer Piercey (born "Jennifer Thompson" on 17th November 1942 in Aberdeen, died 12th April 2022 in London) appeared on Coronation Street in December 1995 as Eileen Wolstenhulme, the mother of Raquel.
She trained at Edinburgh College of Speech and Drama, graduating in 1963, and started her career at the Byre Theatre, St Andrews before teaching Drama to handicapped children for a year. Jennifer then went to London, initially to work with Caryl Jenner’s Unicorn Theatre for Children before appearing in repertory, using the stage name "Piercey" - her mother's maiden name.
Her other credits included roles in The Expert, Bognor, Grange Hill, The Two of Us, Taggart, The Advocates, Rumpole of the Bailey, The Chief, Inspector Morse, Jonathan Creek, My Uncle Silas, Holby City and Doctors, along with the films Friend or Foe and Another Time, Another Place.
On stage, she appeared in productions including Mother Courage and her Children, Macbeth, The Bacchae, Equus, Golden Girls, Barnes' People, Trilogy of Reunions, Revengers' Comedies, Lettice and Lovage, The Sunshine Boys, And a Nightingale Sang and Keyboard Skills.
